Classification and Uses of Apron Plate Feeders

Classification of Apron Feeders

Apron feeders are generally divided into three types: heavy-duty, medium-duty, and light-duty. They are common feeding equipment in ore processing plants.

Light-Duty Apron Plate Feeder

The light-duty apron plate feeder is a continuous feeding machine, suitable for short-distance conveying of block materials with a feeding size of less than 160mm. It is widely used in mining, ore processing plants, chemical industries, cement, building materials, and other departments for uniformly continuous feeding from storage bins to crushers, conveyors, and other machinery. It can be installed horizontally or inclined, with a maximum upward inclination of 20 degrees. It generally suits materials with a loose density of less than 1200kg/m3, block weight of less than 140kg, and temperature below 350℃.

Medium-duty Apron Plate Feeder

The medium-duty apron plate feeder is an intermittent feeding machine, suitable for short-distance conveying of block materials with a feeding size of less than 400mm. It is widely used in mining, ore processing plants, chemical industries, cement, building materials, and other departments for uniformly intermittent feeding from storage bins to crushers, conveyors, and other machinery. It can be installed horizontally or inclined, with a maximum upward inclination of 20 degrees. It generally suits materials with a loose density of less than 12400kg/m3, block weight of less than 500kg, and temperature below 400℃.

Heavy-duty Apron Plate Feeder

The heavy-duty apron plate feeder is auxiliary equipment for transportation machinery. It is used in large ore processing plants in crushing and grading workshops, as well as in cement, building materials, and other departments, for continuous and uniform feeding from storage bins to primary crushers. It can also be used for short-distance conveying of materials with larger particle sizes and specific weights. It can be installed horizontally or inclined, with a maximum inclination of 12 degrees. To avoid direct impact on the feeder, the storage bin should not be emptied.

Applications of Apron Feeders

Apron feeders are widely used in mining, metallurgy, building materials, ports, coal, and chemical industries as continuous transportation machinery. They are primarily used for the continuous and uniform supply and transfer of various large heavy and abrasive bulk materials from storage bins or transfer hoppers to crushers, batching devices, or transportation equipment. They are one of the important and indispensable pieces of equipment in ore and raw material handling and continuous production processes.
