On February 1, 2024, a symposium was held in Beijing to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's inscription "Develop Mining". Xu Dachun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhu Xun, secretary-general of the 8th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former minister of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, sent a congratulatory letter. The meeting reviewed the contributions made by mining workers to the construction of New China under the encouragement of Comrade Mao Zedong’s inscription. The report also pointed out that my country's mining industry has achieved tremendous development in the past 70 years. The number of mineral exploration and development types has increased from 18 to 173, and the output of various minerals has increased significantly, making China move from a weak mining country to a strong mining country. At present, my country's mining industry is steadily advancing towards the goal of high-quality development, and important progress has been made in the construction of green mines and intelligent mining working faces. The symposium was hosted by the China Mining Federation, hosted by the General Administration of Coal Geology of China, and co-organized by China Coal Geology Group Co., Ltd. and the Mine Safety Committee of the China Mining Federation. It was held in a combined online and offline format.
